The one thing about music in general that I love and that keeps me into it with enjoyment and pleasure, is that there is virtually an unlimited amount of creativity and variety that can go into making music. And those of you who know me already or know of my work with the hip hop beats I make, know that I enjoy variety and being creative. That said, I want to focus my attention not on my beats, but on this talented hip hop artist, Logan, that I had the pleasure of chatting with and checking out.
I had the chance of listening to Logan's debut mixtape on Datpiff, "
The Hangover" which he released earlier this year, and the fam is bringing some grade A quality heat to the table! Those of you who know me know I'm not a person who likes just any type of music. I do enjoy quality, and I especially enjoy LYRICAL tracks that I can understand what's being said, versus the same ol' same slurring tracks that talk about the same thing day in and day out.
I was pleased to hear that Logan brought game to the table and had a variety of different styles and tracks to deliver as well. The first track on his mixtape, "Take A Picture" (aside from the intro that is), banged hard and he brought the wordplay on that track. The mixtape got better from there as I listened to it. The track "
When We Roll" sounds like a track that would easily be on the radio as well and would get the club bouncing. It brings that perfect blend of commercial vibe while still coming across gangsta.
Logan continued to bring more variety to the track with the following track, "
Must Be Dreamin" as he delivered some melodic vocals as well as the lyrical flow that has been catching the ears of many since the mixtape was released earlier this year. So far to date, Logan has managed to bring in over 28,000 downloads in less than a year's time, and it's easy to see why! This album caters to those that enjoy this newer age of hip hop music, but he still brings that lyrical fire that can bring in a variety of listeners new and old to the album as well. I'd have to say that the "Pretty Girls" track was one of my favorites from this overall solid mixtape.
Along with all of the work on the lyrics he's put into it, having engineer Jon Cheadle put in the work into the production part of it has made his album blow up big time on all angles, and has also had his music featured on many of the top online hip hop blogs and websites! It's kats like this that I can say really show heart when they push more and more into promoting themselves, networking with other people, and willing to invest in themselves which is very important, and something a lot of aspiring artists fail to realize. And with his drive and determination into his music for the love of music and expression, Logan will continue to make giant strides with his music career.
Logan was born in Brooklyn, NY (SHOUTOUTS to my hometown) and raised in the dirty south of Atlanta, GA, which gives him a blend and mix of both influences of music to bring to the table. He's also a member of the Royal Family Music Group. He's been putting in his grind heavy into his music and devoting much of his free time into it, despite having a full time day job, which shows just how passionate he is with his music. And with him only being 22 years old right now, he has a lot of time to bring further impact into the hip hop game!
Right now, Logan continues to focus strongly on promoting "The Hangover" mixtape album. But be sure to stay in touch with him and keep posted as he's already working on his second mixtape album as well. If you enjoy good music and a variety of different styles and lyrics, definitely check out his mixtape on Datpiff. Again, the name of that mixtape (and you can link here to it) is "
The Hangover".
You can also download from here, his "
Must Be Dreamin'" and "
When We Roll" tracks as well! Props Logan on your continued progress with your music and for making that heat for the masses! Keep doin' what you do! And thanks for the opportunity to listen to and share this with my readers. Keep grindin!!
