If you are a fan of hip hop and the underground movement of hip hop artists that are on the rise, then you'll want to add another emerging hip hop artist to your growing playlist. The latest addition straight from the underground? This
upcoming hip hop artist is known as
Rahat, and he's bringing a flavaful wave of variety to the hip hop scene... something the mainstream is missing, but that the underground continues to thrive on.
Brought up in some of the rougher neighborhoods of Bronx, NY,
Rahat has been grindin' hard and bringing some deep lyrical hip hop to the scene. This is not your typical radio play of lackluster rhymes and hyped up club music. Rahat has brought his life, his experiences, his pain, and more, and put them into lyrical flava that he plans to release on his upcoming album, "A Seraph's Gift".
His style is unique, and the fact that he brings variety to the table with different moods and styles impresses me... something that I always remembered hip hop artists in the past doing, until the mainstream dictated that everything should be a club type bangah instead. The single itself, "
Take Me Higher" produced by Sinima Beats, is a pretty hott track that you'll want to pick up that is now available for purchase on iTunes, and though it borders slightly on the mainstream feel, Rahat has made it his own and delivered well on the track with his lyrical style. He has a few other tracks that you can listen to on his official website
Rahatmusic.com as well, which showcases more of his lyrical skill. I particularly liked what I heard, especially the track "War" which I thought was hott.
Rahat has been impacted by lots of experiences in his life, such as being teased and ridiculed at first while growing up, but then, that's NYC life (I should know... I went through my own phase as well). From that, he wound up associating with the wrong crowd, and thinking it was cool to hang out with them. Though he sidelined more so than not with the wrong crowd, he had a taste of the drug dealings and enjoyment of thug life, and thought it'd be cool to get in even deeper. However, when he faced tragedy that wound up taking the lives of several of his friends, he found himself in a scenario that he didn't want to be in, and reality hit hard. He took this moment to turn things around, to get on track before the thug life took his life as well.
It's through these life experiences alone that
Rahat brings his flava to the table. He's lived through the hardships, the torment as a child, the gang life as a teen, and the pain of losing friends. He takes all of these experiences and more, and uses it as fuel to motivate and uplift his craft to the table with tight lyrical tracks!
To listen to his music is to enjoy it, to embrace it, and to get to know him through his music. I recommend you go to his site now, listen to the "
Take Me Higher" track, and listen to the other songs on the site, and bookmark it for his album release coming soon. Feel free to share this blog or link it to your Facebook or Twitter and spread the luv. Nice work
Rahat, you're makin' moves and putting together some heat! Keep it goin' fam, and rep NYC proud!
